What Does 1904 Stand For?
Medical diagnostic X-ray was first introduced at the 1904 St Louis World’sWorld’s Fair. The number of product introductions from that event is truly impressive and amusing.
The discovery of the X-ray can be credited to Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, a German physicist who accidentally discovered it in 1895.
Roentgen was working on experiments with cathode rays when he noticed something unusual. He observed that a fluorescent screen in his lab would light up whenever he turned on the cathode ray tube.
After many more tests and experiments, Roentgen discovered that the light came from a new type of ray that he called X-ray.
